13 Things I've Learned From My Grandmother

If someone offers you a mint...take it.
God has a plan for me. It's my job not to get in the way.
There is nothing greater than the love of children and critters.
Never give up on true love.
If a kid gets hungry enough...he'll eat.
Your family is THE most important thing...after God.
With a cold beer and a comfy chair on the porch, you can go a long way towards solving almost any problem.
Lipton Green Tea is fab.
Go to church if you can...it never hurts.
Cinnamon is NOT good in chili.
On a curvy road accelerate out of the curve...and ask your passenger to just close their eyes and be quiet.
You are never too old to get married.
Live, laugh, love, believe in God, pay attention to politics but don't get hung up in it, learn things and be nice to people.

I love you Grandma.

Jenn said...: it's a bogger template...to get it to fill the whole page, pick one that says 'stretch'. Then on the title page it gave me a choice to up load a photo. I had to play with it to get one that looked right. You may need to adjust the size, etc.; 8:30 AM

101 Things (or 48 Things, whatever)

1. Have lunch with Andrew at school.
2. Write an actual letter to both of my Grandmothers.
3. Plant trees in my backyard.
4. Serve lunch at a shelter.
5. Do a flip turn in the pool.
6. Go to the zoo.
7. Pick a light out for the kitchen.
8. Build a compost container.
9. Make a rain barrel.
10. Learn how to use a chainsaw.
11. Ride a tandem bicycle.
12. Water ski.
13. Go to Splash Cove with Andrew.
14. Organize the pictures on my computer...and back them up.
15. Wax my car.
16. Go to a drive in movie.
17. Take a walk in the pouring rain.
18. Learn to play a song on the piano.
19. Do another triathlon.
20. Ride another century.
21. Ride the entire Katy Trail again.
22. Catch a big fish with my Dad.
23. See Van Morrison live.
24. Pay my last payment on my last credit card.
25. Take a photography class.
26. Go 48 hours without my cell phone. (not while on vacation)
27. Go 48 hours without my laptop. (same)
28. Go a week without the TV.
29. Race my single.
30. Run 3 miles without walking.
31. Take my dogs to the dog park.
32. Attend a holiday service at church.
33. Bake a decent loaf of bread....from scratch.
34. Sew something.
35. Finish another Holiday Challenge
36. Camp with Andrew.
37. Paint a picture.
38. Race a double with Ed. (And we won!!)
39. Fly a kite.
40. Take and post 1 picture a day for 1 month.
41. Stay at Cruses Cabooses.
42. Sell something on Ebay.
43. Empty one side of the attic.
42. Build a piece of Furniture.
43. Visit little Saoirse Rae Thompson.
44. Go to the dentist.
45. Ride in a hot air balloon.
46. Stay in my jammies all day and watch movies.
47.Go on a trail ride.
48. Attend a Prarie Burn.
