For Brandy

"They will not go quietly, the dogs who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know their spirit still survives.
Old habits still make us think we hear a barking at the door.
Or step back when we drop a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place the food dish used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night, we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our heart belongs to them...and always will."

...and also for Baxter, Cleo, Rib, Tater, Casey, Murphy, Patch, Spike, Kelley, Annie, Shadow, Lady, Rusty, Fritz, Winston and all the other pups we've loved.

My folks lost their little dog last night. Brandy came to live with them several years ago when she 'found' them at the cabin in Arkansas.
She was sweet and funny. Thought she was much bigger than she was and knew...despite what either of them would admit...that she had them both wrapped around her fuzzy paw.
She will be missed.

I'm sorry. I lost Gus and Greta 11 years ago and there is hardly a day goes by that I don't think of them.

I wish for Brandy eternal scritches and warm sunny spots... may she rest in peace...

I'm so sorry about Brandy. I'm still finding Patch's little red hairs in strange places and it makes me smile and very sad all at the same time. There HAS to be a doggie heaven for those little souls that love us so much!
