Andrew vs The Enviornment Part 2

I was on the phone with Kimmy last night while she was putting Andrew to bed.

He's a chatty little guy and I heard him say "We need to see Cousin Stephen all the time. I can talk to him about recycling.

Maybe it's like a carbon offset. I buy him the chocolate doughnut in the plastic bag and he talks to other little kids about recycling....

I'm skeptical about offsets and offset trading. Feels like the whole scheme just allows the big polluters to keep on doing the same old thing, while traders and speculators skim another buck.

I don't buy the concept of Carbon Offsets either. It's kinda like the conversation we have about volunteering. If we let everyone make a donation instead of putting in some time, who will do the work?
(the carbon offset reference in the post was a joke)

Your Andrew stories crack me up. Kids really do help us keep it real! Little chocolate donuts--the Breakfast of Champions!

Okay. Here's a question...

I donate to charities. They send more solicitations in the mail and tell their other charity friends to send me solicitations. I don't mind them asking but I get lots of paper in the mail.

How do I get them to convert to email solicitations? Contact each one independently or is there an easy way like the 'no call' list?

Anybody?

It's pretty simple the illegals will do all the work if we send money and not volunteer. The carbon offset sounds like a solution invented by a committee in Washington. Barb would have carbon offsets but they could traded only in for the donuts. Our paper said today that because someone banned condoms being passed out in schools the basket of condoms from Topeka High should be sent to the Attorney General's Office. You should have been at the OU/KU game. Those kids are just awesome. MUD
